A playgroup is a casual gathering of young children that's organized for play and companionship. Playgroups are usually for children from infancy through pre-kindergarten age. Playgroups help children develop their social, emotional, and physical skills. They also provide opportunities for parents and caregivers to socialize and develop their social networks
Playgroups are less formal than preschools and don't provide full-time care. They usually operate for a few hours a day during the school term, often in the mornings.
